Battle of the Somme Commemorations

2025 saw the VE Day 80th anniversary, with the Field of Heroes silhouettes in Wellington Square. This year sees the 110^th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme and from 1st – 13th July, the silhouettes will be exhibited again. Experts from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and local historians will help members of the public learn about them. There will be commemorations on 1st July at 07:30 and 14:00, and a Service of Remembrance at 19:00. Also daily tours at 14:00. See Destination South Ayrshire for details.
